I’ve been really obsessed with backlinks lately, huh? Well it’s just because I know how important it is to the success of any website, blog, squidoo lens, hub page, etc. And, it’s a strategy that I haven’t utilized to its potential… yet. I decided to start my backlinking campaign by using these revenue sharing sites. However, I do believe that there is still value to using tradition sites like EzineArticles and GoArticles.
So far, I have only used Xomba for my linking. Well now, I’ve added infobarrel to my strategy. This is also revenue sharing with Adsense and you can also make a little extra from referrals. The site is free to use (I don’t even know if paid article directories even exist, do they?) and I like the site so I’ve provided my affiliate link.
What is the best way to use it? Writ an article then, put one link, preferably on the the bottom of the article, to your site using a keyword for the anchor text. For me, I just choose a good keyword related to the niche. But some people adopt a linking strategy of using the main keyword. This is a good strategy, especially if you are using a niche marketing tactic.
I can’t figure out how to make a tracking channel in Adsense though. I’ve also tried to do that for Xomba and have failed. My adsense income is going up, but I don’t know what it’s from. Once I figure out how to do it I’ll share it with you because I suspect that Infobarrel is playing a big part in this jump in Adsense income.

Hi Katherine,
I agree that backlinks are huge. Without backlinks you can only go so far. But does Infobarrel give you a dofollow link? Or is it nofollow? I know Bukisa is nofollow so I’ve decided it really has no value.
Since backlinks are so important I’ve made the comments at my new site dofollow!

As far as I can tell, Infobarrel is dofollow! Bukisa used to be dofollow but they did away with it. How do you make your blog links in the comments do follow?
Are you with Wordpress? There is a plugin you can use. This should do it:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sem-dofollow/
If you’re not wordpress then you have to play with the php code for your comments – and that’s why I like WP! LOL
But just FYI – Xomba links don’t appear to be dofollow. But yes, I can see now that InfoBarrel does dofollow links in their article. I might have to start using them. I’m hoping to launch an ebook in January and article marketing is definitely part of my plan so I’m going to have to see who is dofollow and who isn’t (in case you’re wondering I have a nifty firefox plugin for that!).

I have been writing and building backlinks with Info Barrel on and off for about a year now. I love the site and it is easy to use. There is a great potential for adsense income from the site and the links are do follow.
Info Barrel will only accept unique content. You do retain rights to the articles, but you can not post them any where else if they are on Info Barrel.
Thanks for the feedback on InfoBarrel Jennifer.
I didn’t realize they had been around for this long.
Danielle, I didn’t realize that Xomba wasn’t dofollow. Pout – it’s so easy to use! Also thanks for the info on the plugin – does using “commentluv” make the blog URL’s dofollow does anyone know?
He he, we’re all learning together, right?
According to my firefox plugin it CommentLuv doesn’t make them dofollow. I’ve added CommentLuv to my blog though and in combination with the dofollow plug in my links are dofollow.
Here’s a link for the firefox add-on (I always call it a plugin):
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5687
It’s really easy to use, but if you don’t use firefox I guess that does you no good huh? IE might have one as well and I’m sure Chrome must.

Hey,
Thanks for all the nice things you’ve said about Infobarrel!
While we try to publish as much content as possible, we don’t actually accept articles that have been published elsewhere. Either way, your content is much more likely to get indexed on multiple locations when every article is unique.
Have a great New Years!

Ryan, thanks for stopping in.
I didn’t realize you had to publish all unique content. I don’t personally see the value in posting duplicate content online so you guys never turned any of my articles down as they were uniques so… I went back and corrected the article.
This is the first time I’ve heard of infobarrel. I will check this out and join in.
Hey Walter – yes – stop on by and tell us how it’s going!
Hi, please could you tell me how to integrate your news in my rss reader, i can?t find here the orange rss symbol…
Hey Candance! If you look up at the top right (on top of the sidebar) you’ll see a bird. Next to the bird is the yellow thing – it’s partially hidden though. The URL for the feed though is http://www.pathtosuccessblog.com/feed. And I’m making some changes – I’ll be putting a feed sign up box soon in the sidebar.
