I’ve known for a while that updating my squidoo lenses is an important part of driving traffic to them and making them worth my time. But I know how it is, you ignore your lenses because there’s just so much going on… well I learn this lesson over and over again – it really is worth it to pay attention to them a few times a week.
My most popular lens – Make Money Writing – was ranked at 8000 or so on the site a few days ago. I updated a few times over the next few days after I found out about the rank and it is now at 800 or so. When the lens is ranked higher, I get more traffic to it.
And an “update” doesn’t need to be dramatic. Change a sentence or two. Change the title, add a tag, etc. They can be quick or they can be more involved – it all seems to work the same. I think it is well worth the effort.
