I’ve been working pretty hard at Squidoo. I now have 62 total lenses with several more in the works. In addition, I try to always work on my lenses to make them better and to be a part of the Squidoo community. Sound like a lot of work? Getting all those lenses up at first was but now I have a simple little routine that takes about thirty minutes to complete and it helps me do all of those things. I thought I’d share with you my daily checklist.
- My lens comments.. The very first thing I do is check to see if people made comments. If they did, I reply to them on my own lens. I also try to visit a few of the lenses that the person who commented created.
- Comment on lenses. I try to comment on a few lenses each day and I make sure that the comments I make are meaningful and beyond the regular, “Great lens – thumbs up” type of comments.
- Update my two lowest ranking lenses. This will give them a bit of a boost! Today the lenses I updated were my grilled chicken recipes lens and my protein powder recipes lens.
- Visit squidu.com. If you don’t know what it is, it’s the Squidoo forum. I like to go there to get tips, answer questions, see what’s up, give advice, etc.
- Give two lowest ranking lenses a backlink. Ha! I added this one in today and I stuck the backlink in this post. A bit of a cop-out but it got the job done! Putting the lens url on another lens will also suffice. You can also do article marketing to get the backlink. I’ll be doing this in the future.

Some very sound advice here. I have found that regular updating is a key factor for lensrank. What I have tended to do is to try to update my top ten lenses daily (they are the ones that attract the Squidoo income). I haven’t achieved this of late but I notice that whenever I do not keep up the practice my top lenses start to slide in rank. From my observations, the two things that affect my rank lensrank the most are updating frequency and traffic (these are interdependent of course).
BTW – love the blog layout
Hi Ron – thanks for stopping by and offering your advice! And thanks for the compliment on the theme. I love Squidoo blogs – I’ll be watching out for when your blog is finished.
