Make $1 Million in Five Years?

I just read an interesting post on the warrior forum called “This is a real plan to make $1,000,000″. At first I thought it was going to be a humor post. Instead, I was treated to an upfront and doable plan to make $1 million dollars in 4-5 years.

So naturally, it got my wheels turning. See, I’ve been a writer for six years. During that time I sweated and stressed through my deadlines and worked my butt off trying to find assignments so I can meet my monthly goals. After several years of writing content for my clients, I realized I needed to move on.

Internet marketing has been a perfect fit. I’ve been dabbling in internet marketing and affiliate marketing for the past year but have only recently taken it seriously. I purchased a product by Amy Bass called The Niche Blogger – Make Money Blogging and it has really resonated with me.

In it, she spends three months taking us through step by step on how to create a niche blogging empire. Each blog is to earn $150 per month. So for the heck of it, I calculated that in order to make roughly $1 million dollars, I need to have 600 blogs. It seems crazy, but I was able to calculate the number so why not give it a shot?

And then I read the post on Warrior that basically validated my line of thinking. So why not try this? Who wants to join me? Pick a business plan no matter if it’s internet marketing or writing or whatever you want and get working! :)

Oh ya, and I’ll be updating my progress as well…

Hi Katherine! I’m interested in following along with you. Do you see any problem managing that many blogs? I have trouble keeping up with about 1/10 that many blogs.

    Hi Brian,

So far, I am having a bit of a problem managing that many blogs and I need to think about how to resolve it! My problem may be that I need to completely build the blog first and get everything set up, including posts in circulation, and then start outsourcing. But I’ll give a progress report in a few days.

    Thanks for stopping in!

Katherine… interesting … 600 blogs. That follows my initial line of thinking with ehow. If I can write 30 articles for 30 bucks I only need 3,000 more to meet income goal. WELL at 100 I found out it is much more difficult to micromanage. SO many articles do not earn like the first few did.

Are you finding that with your blogging? One of my observations is that many people get stuck for ideas after writing so many ehows. That has not been my problem but I can only imagine that with 600 blogs you would be really stretching for subjects that don’t require extra research to bring knowledge up to speed. Just trying to picture it.

You seem to have lots of ideas for sure! Please let me know how you are doing on your goal!!! And KUDOS!!!!

Alrady, I am about to make a revision post to this. I was thinking about it, and 600 blogs is A LOT to maintain. I would have to designate a portion of my earnings to outsourcing which in and of itself would be a full time business. I am actually going to post an update on this concept today. :) It’s a journey, that’s for sure!
