You know, I feel like I am starting from scratch with my writing career – only because it has been so long since I’ve taken my online efforts seriously. At one point, I even thought I was going to change the content on this blog to something different – but now that I am actually focusing on the changes I want to make, I kind of want this blog around to buoy my efforts.
Why am I starting from scratch?
When I decided to quite ghost writing, I went nearly cold turkey – and my income took a hit. In a panic, I started ghost writing again and was immediately commissioned to write a book for a client. It was another case of “a lot of work for little pay”. I don’t blame anyone for that divergence, it was simply another bump in the road.
Fitting the Pieces Together
It occurred to me as I was working on this book that although I “know” what I am doing concerning making money online, the pieces haven’t quite fit together. My efforts consisted of reserving a heck of a lot of domains, almost blindly, and then not doing anything with them. I’ve been letting them expire slowly but surely as I’ve realized that I pretty much need to start from scratch.
What followed was a nearly month-long frenzy of making plans and then abandoning them. Seriously, what is wrong with me!
Changing My Ways
Well, you will be happy to know that I am done with reserving useless domains and blindly creating pages that don’t make any money. I am also through with purchasing products – at least until I sort myself out and start making some real money. I have chosen a path to go on, and I am going to stick with it.
My Current Path to Success
What I am focusing on right now is creating an income stream using Hubpages. This is a good fit for me because I love writing. I made a list of topics that I love writing about, and I am just going to go for it. I’ve been researching “how to make money from hubpages” and gathering some insights. Meanwhile, I’ve been creating page after page – my goal is to create at least five hubs a day, more if I can do it.
My Goal to Create 10,000 Hubs
I created a Hub that talks about my goal. Want to see it? My goal is to create 10,000 hubs or make $10,000 – whichever comes first. I think that the $10,000 will come first. The hub I created has some notes about my progress.
To date, I’ve only made a few cents. But then again, I just started the challenge yesterday so I need to cut myself some slack!
Update on my Writing Course
Also, I’ve had requests to offer my free writing course. I pulled the course down because it is outdated. I am going to revise it once I am done going through my current personal journey – and the course will reflect those changes. One thing I didn’t do is develop my residual income streams WHILE I was writing for others. This is a huge mistake I made, and one I would like you guys to rectify. It will all be in my update. 
Hi.. I am on the same boat as you are now… Also, I am focusing on creating residual income from my writing.. I think it is a better option for aspiring writers like me who have a full time job.
